We are proud to be supporting the Home Building Skills Pledge (HBSP) and to be part of the growing momentum to tackle the skills and diversity gap within the construction industry.
Set out by the Home Builder’s Federation (HBF), the HBSP, covers five key areas: collaborate and share; train to a standard; engage and support; champion diversity and inclusion; and promote careers.
By signing up to the pledge, we will actively be contributing to the HBF’s and CITB’s (Construction Industry Training Board) objective of delivering 45,000 skilled workers by 2019. It’s really important to us that we, as an industry, future proof our workforce by creating new entry routes as well as developing existing talent. In doing so this means that quality homes can be built where and when they are needed.
As part of the pledge we will be working with our subcontractors to recruit and train more people, in addition to our existing graduate and trainee scheme that aims to attract more people into the industry and provide a supportive environment in which they can develop a successful career. Find out more in our next HBSP blog!
This is a great scheme to be involved in and we’re committed to working with the HBF to tackle the skills gap head on – watch this space for updates in the future.
