As part of New Homes Week, today we’re looking at the assurance of quality you get with a new build compared to an older home.
Have you ever heard those horror stories where a friend of a friend purchased a ‘lovely character property’ only to find that the roof/wiring/damp course needed replacing? Although it’s very easy to fall for a property on a viewing, it’s often very difficult to identify any problems until the house is yours to put right (although a full homebuyers report does give you an in-depth survey).
When buying a new build home, you can be safe in the knowledge that your property is covered for 10 years by the NHBC Buildmark warranty. As a registered NHBC builder, all of our homes are built to the NHBC Standards, covering everything from design to material specification and workmanship. To make sure standards are met throughout the build process, each of our sites are visited a minimum of five times by a team of NHBC inspectors at key stages of construction. So you know you’re getting a quality build with St. Modwen Homes, but if anything does go wrong you’re covered with Buildmark.
On top of this, you’ll also be able to take advantage of the St. Modwen Homes’ warranty when you buy with us. This goes above and beyond Buildmark, guaranteeing items supplied as part of your new home, including your guttering and alarm system for the first year and the heating, plumbing and electrical systems is also covered for two years from completion.
But don’t just take our word for it, earlier this year we achieved a 5 star rating from the House Builder’s Federation (HBF) which is based on more than 90% of our customers stating that they would recommend St. Modwen Homes to a friend. We also achieved a Gold Award for Customer Satisfaction for the second year running from research specialist, In-House Research.
