Branston Leas named one of UKs Best Regeneration Projects

08 August 2016

Branston Leas has been named as one of the finalists in the Best Regeneration category of this year’s national Housebuilder Awards.

Aimed at recognising and celebrating excellence across the UK housebuilding industry, the Housebuilder Awards are supported by both the NHBC (National House Builders Council) and HBF (Home Builders Federation).

Located less than three miles from the centre of Burton-upon-Trent, Branston Leas is up against eight other developments; half of which are located in London.

Dave Smith, Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “For Branston Leas to be recognised as one of the best regeneration projects in the UK is a true testament to the hard work and collaborative approach that has gone into ensuring this project is a success.

“More than simply new homes, St. Modwen has focused on developing a community at Branston Leas; delivering economic, environmental and educational benefits for local people.”

Branston Leas was recognised by the judges for the many measurable improvements the development has brought to the local area. To date, 64 new homes have been delivered, with construction now underway on the next 204 properties. Additionally, over 90,000 hours of employment have been created, with 1500 new jobs due to be generated throughout the entire development. St. Modwen has also extended the local school, Rykneld Primary School, providing 160 new school places.

Working with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and The Woodlands Trust, St. Modwen has also put much focus on the long-term environmental benefits at Branston Leas. Impressively, 17,000 trees have already been planted at Branston Leas Wood, which will become part of the National Forest when complete, with 3,500 more trees still to be planted. Additionally, 80,000 bluebell seeds have been scattered; many with the help of the local community.

With such a lot going on, it’s no surprise that St. Modwen Homes has seen a consistently high level of demand for its new homes at Branston Leas. In response to this demand, the popular housebuilder has recently launched its second phase of homes, with a mix of two, four and five bedroom properties currently for sale with prices starting from £160,500 for a two bedroom house.

Earlier this year, St. Modwen Homes, was also awarded a 4* customer service rating from the House Builders Federation (HBF), demonstrating the housebuilder’s continued success within the industry and subsequent popularity amongst purchasers.

Dave said: “We’re thrilled to be receiving such high accolades from industry bodies, as well as getting continually high feedback from our new homeowners. We are committed to delivering homes that stand out from the competition, both in terms of their quality and design. This is a great way to celebrate the fifth anniversary St. Modwen Homes and the 30th anniversary of St. Modwen.”

St. Modwen Homes is the housebuilding brand of St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist.
