2017: The year for home ownership?

12 January 2017

Struggling to set a New Year’s resolution? St. Modwen Homes is encouraging people to think big and put a new home at the top of their list.

Working alongside expert mortgage advisors at Mortgage Bureau, St. Modwen Homes will be helping to outline ways in which people can make their house buying dream a reality in 2017 – and in many cases in much less time than they might think.

Bev Hall, Sales and Marketing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “Rather than setting the same old New Year’s resolutions of going to the gym more, taking up a new hobby or picking up that book you promised yourself you’d read five years ago, we’re encouraging people to think a little bigger and be a little braver in their aims. So many people believe that buying their first home or moving up the property ladder is out of their grasp, yet we want to demonstrate to people that it might actually be easier than they think and achievable in a lot less time.

“For instance, did you know that at Branston Leas you could buy a new two bedroom Kemble home with a deposit of just £8,299.75 using Help to Buy or that under the St. Modwen Homes’ Assisted Move scheme, we’ll help sell your existing home for you?”

To help people on their way to fulfilling their home-buying resolution, throughout January St. Modwen Homes will be setting up meetings between potential purchasers and Mortgage Bureau who will explain the various ways in which buying a new home could be easier than people think.

Graeme Lewis from Mortgage Bureau said: “I often tell people that it could take just six months to save the deposit they need to buy a new home, yet people rarely believe me. The key to success is to look at your incomings and outgoings and set realistic goals of what you could save. For instance, do you need that take-away coffee every morning? Could your gym membership be replaced by a daily run around the park and is your weekly manicure really a necessity? There are many ways in which we can all save money. Combine this with the numerous ways in which the government and housebuilders are helping people to buy a new house and home-ownership really might be closer than you think.”

A multi award-winning housebuilder, St. Modwen Homes currently has a range of two, three four and five bedroom homes available across Derbyshire at Branston Leas in Burton-upon-Trent, Manorfields in Castle Gresley, Woodlands Reach in Ravenstone and Hilton Valley in Hilton. Prices for the new homes start from just £165,995 for a two bedroom property at Branston Leas.

St. Modwen Homes’ developments will be open between 10am and 5.30pm on Saturday and Sunday. More information can be found at www.stmodwenhomes.co.uk, on Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest (@StModwenHomes) or on the development’s Facebook page.
