First time buyers vote for Locking Parklands

First time buyers vote for Locking Parklands

07 February 2018

For the second time in just three months, Locking Parklands has been named as one of the best places in the UK for first time buyers to climb onto the property ladder.

Following its successful award win at the national What House Awards in November last year, Locking Parklands has now been shortlisted in the Best Large Development category of the annual First Time Buyer Awards.

Unique to other industry awards, the winners of the First Time Buyer Awards are voted for by the general public.

Locking Parklands is up against two other shortlisted schemes, one in London and the other in Basingstoke.

Tim Ridges, Sales Manager at St. Modwen Homes, the housebuilder behind Locking Parklands, said: “We’re overjoyed that, yet again, Locking Parklands has been recognised as a great place for first time buyers to call home.

“At St. Modwen Homes, we’re committed to helping people get onto the property ladder and, as well as offering a range of schemes and incentives for first time buyers, we work closely with our purchasers to provide advice and support throughout the process; after all buying your first home is a key milestone that you’ll never forget.”

Impressively, 90% of purchasers at Locking Parklands are first time buyers. 86% of these have used the government’s Help to Buy scheme which means they were able to buy their first home with a deposit of just 5% and a 75% mortgage. The government provides an equity loan, which is interest free for the first five years, for the remaining 20%.

Voting for the awards is now open and St. Modwen Homes will discover if Locking Parklands is triumphant at a special award ceremony in April.

Located just 10 miles from Weston-super-Mare, Locking Parklands currently has a range of properties for sale, including two, three and five bedroom homes. As well as offering high quality properties with a modern design, Locking Parklands also boasts large areas of green open space and mature woodland for new homeowners to enjoy, as well as a recently opened community centre and play area. Moving forwards, the new homes will be part of a much larger development at Locking Parklands which will include new office space, a school, library and a leisure complex. Prices for the new homes start from just £175,995 for a two bedroom apartment.
