Local cricket club bowled over by new kit from St. Modwen Homes

The under-11s team at a Gloucestershire cricket club are set to knock the opposition for six next season after bagging new kit from St. Modwen Homes.

The 12-strong mixed squad at Frampton-on-Severn Cricket Club will wear the smart new blue strip at home and away games after the housebuilder, which is building new homes nearby at Littlecombe, donated £450.

The team plays in the Stroud & District Cricket Association’s Under 11s league, which they won last season. Team Coach Nick Peacey, said: “We finished last season on a real high thanks to winning the league and the arrival of our new kits from St. Modwen Homes, which we are very pleased with.

“Support from businesses is vital to the running of our club, so we’re extremely thankful. And a fresh new kit always boosts the players’ esteem and helps bond the team together.”

Frampton-on-Severn Cricket Club was founded in 1847 and is based on England’s longest village green. The club runs three adult teams, a Sunday team, a ladies team and a youth section and is always looking for new players, especially girls. Last season was a big success for the club, with the under 13s squad also winning their league and the under 9s team winning every game they played.

Head of Sales South for St. Modwen Homes, Catherine Jarrett, added: “Frampton-on-Severn Cricket Club plays a big role in the community and we are very proud to be supporting it. We understand how difficult it can be for volunteer-led organisations to find funding for items such as new kits so are delighted to help.

“We hope all the players enjoy wearing their new kit and wish them great success next season.”
