We're celebrating after scooping a top prize at this year’s Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI) West Midlands Awards for Planning Excellence for Victoria Park in Stoke-on-Trent.
The company picked up the Award for Planning Excellence for the transformation of the former ground of Stoke City Football Club, on Boothen Old Road.
The RTPI West Midlands Awards for Planning Excellence celebrate outstanding projects that demonstrate the power of planning in transforming communities, with the winners announced at a ceremony held at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.
The judges commended St Modwen Homes for its extensive partnership working with the local Council, the Environment Agency and most importantly the local community, to bring forward this derelict brownfield site in to much needed new homes, open space and sports facilities for the local primary school. The judging panel concluded that St Modwen Homes had demonstrated the hallmarks of great planning: creativity, tenacity and innovation.
Laura Bisbey, Senior Planning Manager at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We’re thrilled to have won this award for our Victoria Park development and are incredibly proud of everything we have achieved so far. We understood that the Victoria Ground was an important site for the people of Stoke-on-Trent, and we look forward to continuing to turn our plans for Victoria Park in to reality, breathing new life into the community and the surrounding areas and changing this area of Stoke-on-Trent in a positive and meaningful way.”
Ideal for first-time buyers and growing families, Victoria Park currently has a selection of two and three-bedroom homes to choose from, just a short 10 minute walk from Stoke town centre.
