The Christmas Light Switch On Event, which was held on 29th November 2019, is a staple in Dursley Town’s calendar. This year, the event brought the community together to meet Father Christmas in his grotto, enjoy carols and magic performances as well as inviting residents from around the town watch the Christmas lights switch-on, and a spectacular fireworks show.
Commenting on the support received from St. Modwen Homes, Mayor Cllr Neil Grecian, said: “It is ever so pleasing that St. Modwen Homes has sponsored the fireworks at our Town Light switch-on evening. This is an important event for us each year and one that everyone looks forward to. I thank St. Modwen Homes for its involvement.”
John Kay, Clerk at Dursley Town Council, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from St. Modwen Homes - we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation. It enabled us to support the community in running this event, and bring residents together to enjoy the festivities that this time of year brings.”
Dave Smith, Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We were delighted to be able to support this year’s Dursley’s Christmas Light Switch On Event with a donation towards the fireworks at the event. Christmas is a time of year for spending quality time with friends and family and we’re so glad that we could support an event that allows people to do just that.
“As a home builder at the nearby Littlecombe development, it is important for us to get to know the local community and support initiatives that matter to our neighbours. The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes, and it’s lovely to know that our contribution can help make a difference to the local communities in which we build our homes. At St. Modwen Homes we believe in changing places and creating better futures, and this is just one of the many ways we try to make an impact in the places we work. On behalf of everyone at St. Modwen Homes, I’d like to say Merry Christmas and a very happy new year.”
