Award-winning housebuilder, St. Modwen Homes, has secured a record number of sales during June, July and August at its Locking Parklands development, just outside Weston-super-Mare.

Impressively, 21 people purchased a new home at Locking Parklands this summer, marking a 50% increase in sales compared to this time last year.  

Bev Hall, Sales and Marketing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “Typically, developers expect the summer months to be much quieter in terms of sales as people are more focussed on going away on holidays and spending time with the family rather than buying a new house. This year, however, sales have far surpassed our expectations at Locking Parklands. In July, we even sold five homes in five days which is just phenomenal.

“This increase in sales shows both the rise in confidence amongst purchasers, as well as the increasing popularity of Locking as a fantastic place to live. Last month, we released a brand new phase of apartments at Locking Parklands and, in less than six weeks, we’ve already sold six of the eight properties, again emphasising the current popularity of the development.”

The majority of purchasers in June and July were families looking to downsize and first time buyers who were attracted by the three bedroom semi-detached Maple house types at Locking Parklands. The spacious living areas, modern breakfast bar in the kitchen, large windows and high ceilings throughout the homes and the open green space at the development were the main reasons cited as why people chose to buy at Locking Parklands.

Currently, there are a range of house types available at the Locking Parklands including three two double bedroom apartments which boast a spacious open-planned kitchen, dining and living room, the Mulberry and Acacia semi-detached three bedroom homes and four spacious four bedroom detached Aspen home which include a double garage on some plots. The properties start in price from £142,500. When complete, the development will also boast approximately 650,000 sq ft of employment space, including a 30,000 sq ft Innovation Centre.
