Valentine's competition winner revealed

24 February 2015

Everyone deserves to be spoilt on Valentine’s Day so, this year, national housebuilder St. Modwen Homes, decided to give househunters across the UK the chance to win a luxurious – and very romantic – meal for two.

Open to everyone that visited one of the housebuilder’s marketing suites between Friday 13 and Sunday 15 February, the competition received dozens of entries, with many people choosing Valentine’s weekend as the perfect time to search for a new home with their loved one.

One such visitor, and the lucky winner of the competition, is 23 year old midwife, Amie Ward who is now looking forward to enjoying a romantic meal with her boyfriend, Sam Ayre.

Amie entered the competition whilst visiting St. Modwen Homes’ Manorfields development, located just off the A444 on the outskirts of Castle Gresley near Swadlincote.

Amie said: “I can’t believe that I’ve actually won the competition, I never win anything! As a midwife I work really long hours so having a romantic meal already paid for is a great excuse for Sam and I to go out, spend some quality time together and really spoil ourselves. I’m thrilled to have won!”

Currently looking to move up the property ladder into their second home, Amie and Sam were attracted by the four bedroom houses on offer at Manorfields, in particular the double garage and spacious open plan layout.

“Sam and I currently live in Woodville, about three miles away from the Manorfields site. Having now been in our first home for just over a year, we’re already thinking about moving up the property ladder and were attracted to the four bedroom homes at Manorfields so decided to pop along at the weekend for a visit.

“Our first impression of the new homes was that they were really spacious and the layout worked really well, with an open plan kitchen and dining room and separate living room. What’s more, there was lots of built-in storage which is one of the main issues with our current house – there might even be space for my own dressing room! We’ll certainly be considering a house at Manorfields as a potential for our next home.”

There are currently three show homes for people to view at Manorfields, two of which are three bedroom houses named The Egwin and The Oswald and one is a four bedroom home called The Dunstan.

All of the show homes boast traditional red brick exteriors, with stone sills and door surrounds, as well as spacious living areas including a large open plan dining/kitchen area with French doors leading out into the rear garden. In keeping with St. Modwen Homes’ philosophy of light and height, all the new homes feature higher than average ceilings and large windows throughout.  Prices for the new homes start from just £179,950.
