Dursley sees property market boom since beginning of 2015

Dursley sees property market boom since beginning of 2015

15 July 2015

Dursley is becoming an increasingly popular place to call home as St. Modwen Homes reports a 43% rise in sales at its Littlecombe development, located off Lister Road.

Thanks to increasing confidence amongst home buyers in the local area, the multi award-winning housebuilder has experienced a boost in sales levels in the first six months of 2015, compared to the same time period in 2014

Following these strong sales, St. Modwen Homes has now sold out of all but one of its new homes in the current phase at Littlecombe.

The remaining property for sale is a four bedroom semi-detached Herdwick house type which was released for sale this week and is priced at £299,995. Designed with families in mind the Herdwick has four double bedrooms, as well as an open plan kitchen and dining room and a large living room with French doors leading out to the rear garden.

Bev Hall, Sales and Marketing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We’ve certainly seen a boost in both visitors and sales at Littlecombe, with people from all stages of the property ladder looking for their next home. We have also seen a rise in confidence since the general election results in May, with more people now believing that it is the right time to buy.

“Dursley itself has proven a popular place to call home with both those people wanting to stay in the area and those looking for an ideal commuter location from larger cities such as Bristol.”

To date, St. Modwen Homes has delivered more than 70 new homes at Littlecombe.

Richard Mace Managing Director at Besley Hill Estate Agents, said: “The houses at Littlecombe have certainly been one of the most popular choices amongst home buyers in the local area so it comes as no surprise that St. Modwen Homes is now nearly fully sold out of homes in its current phase.

“In general, since the beginning of the year, there has been something of a property boom in Dursley with more and more people now considering the market town as a commuter location.”

Following the success of the first phase of homes at Littlecombe, St. Modwen has submitted a planning application for the next phase of the development which will include 58 additional new homes, boasting a mix of two, three and four bedroom properties.
