St. Modwen Homes will be holding a special Help to Buy weekend at three of its sites – Manorfields in Swadlincote, Edison Place in Rugby and Woodlands Reach in Ravenstone – on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July.
Free for everyone to attend, the open weekend will take place between 10am and 5pm at each of the sites and will give hopeful home owners the opportunity to speak to local IFAs (independent financial advisors) about the government’s equity loan scheme.
Help to Buy has proven hugely successful since it was launched in 2013, helping thousands of purchasers get onto and move up the property ladder. Under the scheme, people pay just 80% of the listed purchase price of a property, made up of a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage. The government will provide an equity loan of up to 20% to cover the remaining cost which is interest free for the first five years.
Bev Hall, Sales and Marketing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “Nearly 50% of our homeowners have used Help to Buy to purchase their new home in the past year yet we’re aware that many people still have lots of questions that they would like answering. Our Help to Buy events give customers the perfect opportunity to get their questions answered, whether they’re wondering how much deposit they’ll need, how the repayments work or what the next steps in the process are.
“All our homes are available to purchase under Help to Buy and whilst, to date, the scheme has proven most popular with first time buyers, it is also available for those looking to move up the property ladder.”
Anyone interested in finding out more about Help to Buy is invited to drop in to one of the open events. The event at Manorfields will take place in the marketing suite located off the A444 in Castle Gresley, Swadlincote (DE11 9EW). The event at Edison Place will take place in the marketing suite located on Technology Drive in Rugby (CV21 1BD) and the event at Woodlands Reach will take place at the marketing suite on Hemlock Road, Ravenstone in Leicestershire (LE67 3NA).
