Planning application submitted for next phase of homes at Branston Leas

28 July 2015

St. Modwen Homes has submitted a planning application for 204 new properties at its Branston Leas development located on Thorntree Lane in Branston, just two miles from Burton-on-Trent.

This application follows the huge success of the first phase of housing at Branston Leas where 24 of the 67 homes have been already been sold, with many people eagerly awaiting for the next houses to be released for sale on this phase.

Robin Smith, Technical Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “The popularity of our first phase of homes at Branston Leas far surpassed expectations and we believe that our plans for the next phase at the development will be widely welcomed by local homebuyers particularly as we are proposing a wider mix of house styles within this next phase.

“In addition to the new homes, our plans include a large quantity of open space which will be available for residents to use. We’re also planning to plant hedgerows, shrubs and trees around the development, delivering a new public footpath and having a children’s play area on site.”

St. Modwen Homes has worked with RG+P architects to design homes that comply with St. Modwen Homes’ philosophy of light and height whilst being sympathetic to the local area. The house designs include a mix of red brick, horizontal cladding and render exteriors, with light and spacious interiors. Each property benefits from having large windows and higher than average ceilings.

Robin said: “These new homes will form part of St. Modwen’s larger regeneration scheme at Branston Leas meaning new home owners will benefit from a collection of shops, car park and community garden being delivered at Branston Square and a new sports pavilion which opens to the public this weekend at Clays Lane Park. There will also be 1,500 jobs created at Burton Gateway business park.”

Branston Square, Clays Lane Park and Burton Gateway all form part of St. Modwen’s overall Branston Leas development and are all located within easy reach of the new homes, as is the new Branston Leas Wood which will boast in excess of 20,000 trees when complete and be part of The National Forest.

St. Modwen Homes is the residential brand of St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist. Since it was launched four years ago, the housebuilder has won multiple awards for its house designs and considerate approach to the local community.

Due to popular demand early bird reservations are now being taken on the next homes to be released for sale in the first phase at Banston Leas.
