Helping spread Christmas cheer to the Acute Elderly Unit at Burton Hospital

22 December 2019

The Burton Hospital Acute Elderly Persons Ward has received a Christmas boost of £250 from St. Modwen Homes. The donation has been put towards a new music player for everyone on the ward to enjoy, as well as Christmas presents for the staff.

Burton Hospital and its specialised wards are essential to the Burton community, especially around Christmas time. Boosting morale at the hospital is especially important at Christmas so that all patients and staff can relax and enjoy the festive period. Sales Consultant, Lindsey Watson and Site Manager, Michael Brealey at St. Modwen Homes’ Branston Leas development, visited the Acute Elderly Persons Ward to help with the Christmas gift exchange.

Commenting on the support received from St. Modwen Homes, Claire King, Ward Manager at Burton Hospital said: “We are so grateful that St. Modwen Homes has supported our Acute Elderly Persons Ward during the festive season. The donation has been put towards a new music player for the ward and presents for the staff which has brought some much needed Christmas cheer to everyone.

“This time of year can be hard for some members of our community and we can’t thank St. Modwen Homes enough for the kind donation.”

Dave Smith, Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We were delighted to be able to support Burton Hospital and its Acute Elderly Persons Ward. Christmas is a time of festivities and enjoying quality time with friends, families and the local community and we are so glad that we could help bring joy to the patients and staff.

“At St. Modwen Homes we believe in changing places and creating better futures, and this is just one of the many ways we try to make an impact in the communities in which we build our new homes. On behalf of everyone at St. Modwen Homes, I’d like to say Merry Christmas and a very happy new year.”
