As part of its partnership with Dallaglio RugbyWorks, St. Modwen Homes will be providing the education charity with a £5,000 sponsorship boost, which will be put towards upcoming tournaments that help disengaged young people achieve sustained education, employment and training. In addition, St. Modwen Homes will also provide support in the delivery of skills-based workshops and Career Taster Days catered to participants on the Dallaglio RugbyWorks programme.
The homebuilder first partnered with Dallaglio RugbyWorks in November 2018 and, so far, the sponsorship has seen St. Modwen Homes host employability days which give young people an insight into working in construction, as well as provide funding and match day t-shirts for rugby tournaments for teenagers in the Midlands.
Dave Smith, Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes said: “We are delighted to be continuing our support for the second year running of the Dallaglio RugbyWorks. The work that Dallaglio RugbyWorks does in helping teenagers develop key skills to benefit their futures is so important. We are thrilled to be supporting the programme, both through the funding of tournaments and by helping young people to learn more about careers in construction.”
Paul Shepherd, Content Marketing Manager at St. Modwen Homes, who recently attended one of Dallaglio RugbyWorks’ networking events, said: “It was amazing to hear Lawrence Dallaglio talk so passionately about the positive impact that sport, especially rugby, has on the lives of the young people the organisation works with. We’re so proud to be supporting this charity again in 2020 and can’t wait to meet some of the young people who are taking part in the programme.”
Jennifer Mustoe-Castle, Partnerships Manager at Dallaglio RugbyWorks, said: “We’re delighted to continue our successful partnership with St. Modwen Homes into 2020. The partnership with St. Modwen Homes provides us with an important relationship in the Midlands that enables us to engage with young people across the region and provide essential support to them. Thanks to the backing of St. Modwen Homes, we can deliver important opportunities such as tournaments and Career Taster Days that will help to boost the social and technical skills of our young people, so they have a greater chance of entering employment, education or training after school.”
Dallaglio RugbyWorks, which was founded by former England Rugby and Wasps Captain, Lawrence Dallaglio OBE, is an intensive, long-term skills development programme based on the values of rugby, with the aim of steering teenagers outside of mainstream education into sustained education, employment or training.
